A4 TDI (B6) 1.9 AWX ENGINE, BASICALY I DROVE IT 220 MILES (120 MILES WERE MOTORWAY AND 100 LOCAL DRIVING)

WENT TO FILL UP AND IT TOOK 25 QUID TO FILL TO THE BRIM AGAIN I THINK 24.88 LITRES=25 QUID (87.9 PENCE PER LITRE)

IS THIS GOOD OR SHOULD I BE GETTING MORE MILES?

FULLY SERVICED ALL GENUINE PARTS,NEW COOLANT SENSOR AND DONE A FULL SCAN ON VAG-COM (NO FAULTS FOUND)

IT IS THE 130 BHP MODEL.

Unless my calculations have all gone to pot then you are getting 32 mpg!

25 / 0.879 = 28.44 litres

28.44 / 4.2 = 6.77 gallons

220 / 6.77 = 32.49 mpg

This figure does depend on how you drive but that does seem a tad low, considering I get about the same out of my heavier 2.5tdi auto quattro.

I reckon it depends a lot on your driving style - I've got an A4 saloon 2.5 TDI (2002) I've had for two months - nearly 6,000 miles on it's running at an average of 48.3 mpg.

25 quid is 24.88 litres checked my self when filling up,so yes your calculations have gone pot!

Any way ive checked again, after i topped to the brim. i did 104 miles local an some motorway, went to fill up 7.84 pence it was full (managed to squeeze in 8.40 pence!!!!! quite good i think for a car of its size! :respekt:

There's 4.55 litres in a gallon, not 4.2. That makes 6.25 gallons, not 6.77, and 35.2mpg rather than 32.49. Still not great, mind you. I can almost get that from an A4 2.4V6 petrol with multitronic!
