    TSI technology in diesels?

With the fairly recent launch of VWs TSI engines I was wondering if the same technology could be applied to diesels.

BMW has sort of done it already with their 335 and 535 twin turbo 3.0 diesels but I wondered if VAG might be looking at the TSI route for their diesels. It'd be great to get rid of that idle - 1900 rpm gap in the power and have seemless drive from idle to the red line. You'd also be able to have a bigger turbo with TSI so power outputs could go even higher without sacrificing driveability.

Anyone know if it's on the way or am I dreaming?

It is possible, they have been doing this on the diesel power boats for years.
