I'm just about to get my hands on an A4 2.5 TDi Quattro.
I wondered if anyone knew the general service schedule, and related costs.
It's done 68K and is due a service in cc 4K.

More to the point can anyone tell me what the schedule is for cam belt changes? there seems to be alot of discussion about the process, but I'm new to the forums and looking for some help.

Hi to all you other Audi owners, they really are the best cars :weight_lift2:

Do you have the service book? All the details can be found in there.

What year is your car?

The cambelt needs changing every 80k on the v6 lumps and the service intervals vary depending on use!

just done the change myself and its not cheap! So make sure you try and get hte price down on the car accordingly. I spent 400 on parts to change EVERYTHING.

Don't worry - Its worth every penny.

service is variable, mine usually requested an oil change once a year and inspection service also once a year (i do oil at both).

Yes, thanks, It was the weekend so couldn't confirm with Audi themselves.
80K seems to the cam belt interval, which is fine, just wanted to check it wasn't overdue. Will probably leave it to the dealers due to the fact that our local (highly rated) Audi/VW specialist has recently closed down :ermm:

its an 02 Saloon, have agreed to buy it, haven't actually got my mits on it yet, looking forward to having an A4 again, it's been a few years since my last, and a few years toooooo long!

I will look at the service book to check what is due at the next service, thanks for the tip.

Is the car from a main dealer or INDY? If you havent bought it yet then I would get them to fix it before you purchase it.

There doesnt seem to be much difference in whether you get the belt done via Audi or an independant as it is a big job, they have to remove the whole front end to change it.

The only way you will make big savings is if you do it yourself!

I recently came over from the world of bimmers and I have to say that I much prefer the VAGS!

Yep - got the cambelt changes on my V6 and it cost £600 including the 80K service.

I also got the diesel pump belt replaced and water pump.. there were loads of additional belts, pullys etc replaced.

Audi are now saying 40k miles for cambelt or 4 years. I had mine done recently for £780 by main dealer. It was a full kit, not just a belt change.

That sounds about right and not bad price from a main dealer!
