Hello all,

I am working on an Audi A6 fitted with a 2.5l 5-cylinder turbo-charged TDI engine producing 140 bhp (103Kw) - engine code AEL.

Does anyone know the correct method for establishing TDC from the flywheel markings? Normally on these type of engines you line up a mark (cut) on the flywheel with the edge of the aperture in the bell-housing. Do you align it with the upper edge or the lower edge?

Also, following changing the fuel pump drivebelt, I need to re-set the basic fuel timing by checking the 'lift' on the the pump at TDC. Bosch advise a 'lift' of 0.55mm. Can anyone confirm this is correct? If not, what is the setting?

Any help would be much appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
