What is this part?

The other end of this bronze pipe has come loose and the engine is making a hell of a noise. Any idea what it is / does?

A part number would be great. I'm using an image off of another thread as my car is miles away parked outside a garage where the RAC guy dumped it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is the egr pipe to the egr cooler , its making a hell of a din because this pipe runs from the exhaust manifold pre-turbo to the inlet manifold egr valve
