This is my first automatic car, and with a remap I'll be doing 300 horsepower quite easily. I'm wondering what sort of power the torque converter in the auto box can handle. What typical power are people getting from their 3.0 TDIs with a remap, and has anyone exploded anything expensive yet?
What power can the auto box take? 3.0 TDI paddleshift

The power (bhp) isn't so much the issue....it's the torque - iirc our boxes are rated to 500 lbs/ft
the torque covnverter will be fine
Personal I find the zf g/box poor and slow to respond in all modes really - the 6hp19 isn't great IMO - the 6hp26 I had in my 335d before wasn't great but it was infinitely better than the 6hp19

******...should have specified in my post that I was talking about torque and not power ;-/Have to add though that the 6hp28 in mine sounds no better than the previous generations.
