Loss of power and smoke

Just had to have my car recovered from motorway as lost all power and started smoking from exhaust. On the hard shoulder, car was idleing fine, not over heating or anything. But when I touch the accelerator it. Slows smoke out!

Any ideas what's going on before it goes to garage?

Quite possibly EGR valve failure. Mine failed and went into limp mode and covered the M6 in smoke! check that first

It's had a new egr valve and cooler in the last 6 months. Aswel as a new engine! I'm thinking it's the turbo. Oily smoke from the rear. Can hear a rattling from the turbo aswel.
