Hi i am new to this.

I brought my audi a3 just over a year ago and all was ok until now. When i was going down hill i went to over take and my car went into limp mode. After a few times of restarting my car i decided to floor it in 3rd gear. And i heard a massive pop. I managed to get to a garage and they popped the bonnet up and it was a turbo pipe which runs to the left hand side of the engine next to the belt. I had the car read for codes and 17965 code came about. I have now taken my car to audi dealer and they have diagnosed it to being my mass air meter. Any help would be helpful?

Thanks

Ray

I'm by no means an expert but i think over time the wastegate on the turbo gets gunged up with soot and stops the wastegate from moving which results in overboost thus causing your car to go into limp mode and blowing a boost pipe off. It may well be new turbo time :S
