As title suggests, I need to replace the thermostat in the car (2000 A4 (B5) 1.9TDi PD 115).
I've been told by a local mechanic that it's a pig of a job, and that the bumper, h'lamps, and rad need to be moved forward.
I've also been told it can be done by only removing the alternator.
Can anyone give me an idea of how much of a 'pig' of a job it actually is? Is there an online guide available with pictures?
I've got the haynes manual for the car, but as we all know, they go 'by the book', and don't mention handy hints to 'shortcut' a few of the tedious processes.
Many thanks in anticipation
