HELP PLEASE A4 TDI CUTS OUT

Hi guys,

Need urgent help please, bought a A4 1.9 tdi b6 2001 with 146k
from auction yesterday, as it was really cheap

everything seemed fine, until today car started 1st time
left it idling then all of sudden it cut out

so basically now car will start but cuts out almost immediately/few secs

no fault codes showing or warning light on dash, cars is standard
warning lights on dash come on as normal once ignition it on

all help appreciated

could be maf sensor?

wouldnt the maf sensor only cause symptoms of hesitation/misfire around certain revs ?

saying that had a look today & when i unplug maf connector car seems ok no cutting out etc
when i reconnect it starts to misfire/wont accelerate

so could that indicate the maf is faulty ?
also is the maf repairable

you can get a spray cleaner and try that, otherwise its a new one
