If it is a new car, I would be surprised if it needs claying. If you have the time, then maybe worth covering it just in case it has been sat in a car park for a while, or picked up dirt and grime from transport.

Polish wise, Menzerna 203 for any swirls, either by hand or by machine, with the orange pad suggested next to this link;

Protection wise, look at something like Natty's paste wax as reds work well with waxes rather than sealents. This link should explain all
