I'm looking for a product to remove the tacky rubber left (which the tyre fitting places never attempt to remove) after new tyres are fitted/balanced.

I seen it in Halfords last week now in a spray £4.99 - But the bottle I have is not a spray...

That will do the trick - Let me know how you get on.

Tardis for me also, use it for this exact purpose on a daily basis, i hate old stickers left on inner rims

Another vote for Tardis here..

Often requires a fair amount of *picking* though after it's been loosened with Tardis.
