Porsche Carerra 4 S

Some of you may remember this car from early/mid last year. Since my last visit in July 2008, it has had no additional protection top-ups all year. I’m pleased to say, it was still well protected and the water was sheeting very nicely indeed! (Benefits of having a garage I suppose)

The car needed a once over with a polishing pad and Limeprime to remove some light wash marring that was induced (we think...) by the Porsche dealership. (it had just returned from having a bit of work done.)

Upon inspection, it was very clean indeed. (Even the tyres were dressed!) The worst spots were the exhaust tips and the alloy-wheel dish...

Rinsing the Last Touch residues as I work, then finally sheeting water over the vehicle to aid the drying stage..

Once dry, and in the sun, some faint swirls and holograms could be spotted from previous wash attempts.

If anyone is after some waterproof boots to work in, I’d highly recommend these:

I can’t find the exact model, but they’re Helly Hanson. Coupled with the Seal Skinz socks, it’s a great combination!

So, once inside, I tape up and take a look at the paint under a little LED light.

This is the general before:

And this the ‘general’ after:

Some deeper marks were left, but, the colour hid these very well indeed (very hard to spot outside in the natural light)

Stepped down to a smaller 3M pad for the tighter work areas.

Oh, I forgot to mention, using the new Gloss-It pads from Polished-Bliss. They’re great! The rotary was a lot easier (some might say ‘agile’?) to use. Good purchase that’s for sure.

Once the car had been juiced with the LP, it was time to protect. The obvious choice was Supernatural.

Outside, and, some nice flake pop:

And that is about it!

I haven’t got any decent after shots of it this time round.. But, if there’s enough interest I may post a couple of larger images from the last few visits :)

Enjoy..
