when do i apply a glaze?

hi people,well basically i'm gonna be giving my car a full detail at the weekend and i have a few little swirls here 'n' there over my car and as i don't have a rotary i was thinking of trying out poorboys black hole glaze to see how it performs.
but as i've never used a glaze before i don't know when to apply it?
before polishing?after polishing?
