An old school/family/gym friend wanted me to look at his A4 cabriolet see if it could be spruced up and generally freshened a little.
I wasnt able to capture many during shots throughout, so, just a small/quick report Im afraid.
Inspection shots..
Generally, quite tidy. A few clumps of Super Resin Polish from previous ventures to tidy up, several bad tar deposits on the lower halfs and a light dusting on the engine-bay/interior.
Engine bay worked first. Mix of Megs APC, Super De-greaser and various brushes/microfibres.
Sills and shuts next. APC, Super-Degreaser for the hinges and a good wipe around the boot channels.
Quite a warm day today - was going to struggle with water-spotting, or at least so I thought.
Hood was cleaned with 303 convertible cleaner and an AG hood sponge, rinsed thoroughly. Protected with 303 Fabric Guard once dry.
Foamed. Rinse. Two-bucket wash. De-Tar (Tardis). Clay.
Limeprime on a yellow 3M Polishing Pad.. Barely tickled the hard VAG paint.
Before:
After:
Side completed:
Clearkote Red Moose Glaze applied after on a blue 3M Polishing/finishing pad. (first time Ive worked this on DA (PorterCable7424, and, it was lovely! )
Time to tidy things up and tackle the polish residue build-up..
Out with the Cocktail sticks:
.Doh.
Before:
After:
Toe-eye cap full of SRP..
Alu finished areas cleaned/prepped/protected with Jeffs Werkstat PRIME
