Hi

Is it possible to remove the rust deposits that has built up inside my coolant reservoir and if so how could it be removed?

Many Thanks.

You will have to remove the reservoir from the car, youll need a bendy brush and bleach should do the trick. Do not try to clean it in situ, you dont want all that **** floating round the cooling system, best advice i could give you, live with it!:o.k:

i have already removed it from the car and soaked it in bleach then used TFR on it.

Still cant get it clean :(

Believe it or not, I've heard that Steradent tablets or something similar cleans these very well. Obviously remove from the car first and wash out thoroughly afterwards.

Thank you JST_A3

sounds good but what is steradent tablets?

hehe sorry i have never heard of them before

ow i think my mum has them

:lmfao:tried it and let it steep over night.

Thank you mwarrey.

The rice and water worked a treat.

just hope now that nobody 'googles' rice and water......imagine the suprise when reading the thread!!!!!

I just wonder how someone found out in the first place, and what other combinations they may have tried!

i bet someone somewhere MUST have p**sed in one:lmfao:...nice bit of ammonia to fetch the rust out of my coolant bottle
