Spilt White Spirit on the Bonnet!

Hi, being a clumsy donut I managed to spill White Spirit over my bonnet and bumper on the weekend (don't ask!)

I quickly jet washed it and shampood it off within 5 minutes of spilling it but due to time restrictions have not had a chance to properly clean the rest of the car. Is it likely to have damaged the paint work?

it shouldn't as long as you washed it off quick enough. a thorough blast with the pressure washer should have removed it all

Nah it wont have done any harm, will have removed any wax that was on the car though.

No, it wont do any lasting harm, strip any wax off at worst.

As above, most tar & glue removers are based on white sprit formulas, so no need to worry as long as you blasted it off pretty quick. If it was allowed to bake dry in the sun then problems may have occurred in the form of light staining, but all should be well at this time of year. :icon_thumright:
