anyone got any tips on how best to clean a soiled headlining,it looks like the window has been left open when there has been a dusty storm which has then got wet.

Is it dry at the moment?
If not, then pat it with absorbent cloth and wait until it's dry. Once dry, I would suggest some diluted All Purpose Cleaner applied to the area and agitated with some form of upholstery brush. Repeating the process may be necessary.
May as well do the whole headlining! Best give it a vacuum first.
If you're available on Saturday or Sunday then you could bring the car round to my place and we'll try and remedy it. I've got all the necessary tools and chems. If interested then PM me. I'm just by Polmont.

Sorted.
Foamed with dilute Meguiar's all purpose cleaner 10:1 and scrubbed with an upholstery brush. Lots of people just use a cloth to wipe the area but a dedicated brush is so much more effective.
