Burnt on brake dust

i have quite a few burnt on brake dust spots on my alloys. I use the menzerna gel for cleaning them but it just wont shift the spots. If i clayed them will that shift them?

Claying them should be fine and will most likely remove the contamination. There's a PB guide on cleaning and protecting wheels:

Just to add to the above, if you have some sturbborn spots clay may work, as might a stronger acid based cleaner, but also consider that they may be tar or rubber spots; wheel cleaners won't budge these, but a decent tar & glue remover will. We frequently use strong cleaners and then tar & glue remover to fully clean bad wheels coming in to us.
