Hi Everyone
New to forum, recently got an 07 phantom black a4 avant spec. edition.
I've never really been into detailing my cars but after seeing some of the cars on this site i think its about time i did. Probably not going to be spending days on it like some of you but dont my a bit of hard work. Theres so many products i'm not sure where to start, so any advise would be great. I've seen a thread saying the easiest option would be Blackfire polish/protect/wax, also what towels/applicators would be needed. The paintwork on the car is in excellent condtion but has a few light swirls. Sorry if too many questions but if i could get it half as good as some of the cars on this site i'd be more than happy.
Thanks in advance

To apply your chosen products you want to get some German applicator pads from PB. Red side for cleansers and waxes/sealants, white firmer side for polishes For buffing residues, the Poorboys Deluxe Mega Towels are ideal. For drying your car after washing, I'd recommend the Poorboys Waffle weave drying towels. Dry the windows first with these towels so that they are 'primed' and then they will soak up water well using the pat-drying technique.

Hope this helps.:icon_thumright:

Just to reinforce the above, here is our standard recommended routine for the Blackfire system...

Wash (ideally every week)

Basic Wash Kit £34.85 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb500wash.html

Clay
(once or twice a year, spring and autumn are the best times)

Meguiars Quik Clay £11.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb100clean.html

Polish (after claying, thus done once or twice a year)

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish, applied using the white side of an Ultimate German Applicator Pad, and buffed off using Poorboys Deluxe Mega Towels

Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish £13.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb191polish.html
Ultimate German Applicator Pad £2.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb68polish.html
Poorboys Deluxe Mega Towel £3.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb128_402protect.html

Protect (apply a fresh coat every 6-8 weeks)

Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection £21.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb195protect.html

This product gives a highly reflective wet looking shine and is very easy to put on and take off (apply using the red side of an Ultimate German Applicator Pad, and buff off using Poorboys Deluxe Mega Towels). If you want to take the look of the car further, you could optionally finish with our Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnauba Paste Wax, which is very easy to use, and which will give even more wetness and gloss. However, because of the high carnauba content, it is pricey, and thus optional...

Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnauba Paste Wax £39.95 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb205protect.html

Wheels (wash weekly, protect every 4-6 weeks)

Basic Wheel Kit (gives you two protectants and a tyre dressing) £44.45 - http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb502wheels.html

The Blackfire system is a great choice for Phantom Black; not quite as sharp and shiny looking as the Werkstatt Acrylic system, but wetter, glossier and easier to use for sure. :icon_thumright:
