Part 2 of my adventure last week saw me getting down to sorting out Carl's moro blue metallic, S4 Avant.

Again, as with the A4, about 95% surface correction was achieved and Carl was happy to proceed with the rest of the car on this basis.

The processes were pretty much the same as for the PART 1 detail.

A big thank you to Carl and Cheryl for their hospitality and for giving me the experience of working on their nice cars. Also to wee Archie for his smiles and entertainment.

Best wishes Carl. Hope you like!

JOHN

wow - cracking results there.

Do you mind if I ask what products you used and the process(es) involved / time it takes to get a car back to that state?

Thanks! :D

Hi there,

I've outlined the products and techniques in Part 1. Hope you find it's readable! Timewise, bearing in mind the initial condition of the paint, it was approx 17 hours per car. It's very meticulous but extremely worthwhile work though. It's the kind of finish, especially close up, that you can really only achieve by machining IMO.

If there's anything you feel needs clarifying then let me know and I'll try to help.

Cheers,

JOHN

John - Big thumbs up!

Archie was asking after the funny man with the hat yesterday!!

Brilliant results and well impressed all round. Glad you enjoyed the trip too.

Gonna get some pics of both cars together shortly, which should look great...

Cheers!

Ah ha! Avoiding the burnt head problem with a hat now eh? Another great detail and lovely 50:50 shot - I can't believe how quickly you've managed to pick things up, shows you have a natural aptitude for it for sure. :icon_thumright:

Still can't believe you travelled all that way! Nutter! :rockwoot:

Knew you'd enjoy it though - and that Stoaksey would be pleased with the results - I know I was. :icon_thumright:

Anyone else out there should know that John comes highly recommended! :respekt:

Can any of you pro-detailers give me a quote to do my A4 Avant please, i live in north wales.
