The (cheap) MOT Thread...

All,

I've got two cars with their MOT's due within a week of each other, VW Golf this Thursday and the A3 has its first MOT next week - ouch!

Can someone recommend a cheap testing place (perhaps with a special offer or discount) in west London so I can minimise my costs?

I've got a mechanic who will do any necessary work, so I'm just looking for a place that will perform the test...

Any suggestions?

Well I had a dig around and came across Nationwide Autocentres.

They have a 10% discount online, so that brings the price down to £45ish.

They also have another offer for Tesco Clubcard holders (of which I am), where you get 20% off your MOT.

I've booked the Golf in for this week and confirmed that it will cost £40.23.

Any work that needs to be done (should they try that on) will be done by my mechanic.
