Gilmour Foamaster, anyone got one?

Just wondered if they are as good as they look. Like the idea of cleaning the car of almost all dirt before touching it, avoiding swirls

Good product, but if you have a power washer an Auto-Brite foam lance would be a better bet (much more clinging foam); the Gilmour is best for folk without a power washer and just a normal garden hose. :)

Yip, if you have a pressure washer, then go for the Autobrite Foam Lance.

It's going to be my next purchase.

In the meantime if you don't have the cash for the Lance, or Gilmour, then check out the poor man's Gilmour - the Superspray (http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-drying/super-spray-hose-end-sprayer/prod_335.html), it's what I presently use and it does a great wee job with the Autobrite SuperSnowFoam.

I soak the car in foam and leave it for 3-4 mins and PW off. I then soak the car again and wash with a Sheepskin Mitt and the two bucket method. My car has never been brighter or cleaner. I have noticed a major improvement using the Superspray and the SuperSF.

Hope this helps.

Fantastic tool, i wouldnt be without mine, use it for pre-soak & then use it for washing the car, to try & get the safest wash, i have the gilmour in 1 hand & mitt on the other, foaming & wiping as i go,flooding the dirty off then rinsing the mitt in a bucket after each panel.
Quite expensive but well worth it, if you like to try & keep your car swirl free.
