A4 PC PAINT CORRECTION AND PROTECTION

A4 First Time
Hi Folks,

Finally got the chance to try out my new PC. The car that was for it was my Ming Blue Pearlescent A4. What the heck. There's only one car in this household.

I had to crack on with the PCing without being able to set up lights and take before and after swirl shots with camera, but hopefully I've captured something of the day. Did manage to get some other shots though.

Here's the worst single area of the car. It has been marked all over the place by kids at my work missing the goal. Wee chancers actually. So this is where I'd begin so that I could decide on the polish to go for.

Tried the Sonus SFX1 Yellow pad with Menzerna IP, but not too much giving, after 6/7 passes at PC number 5, following on from working in at number 3.
Then decided on the 'only if you must' route of Menz Power Gloss[URL="http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/devilflame.gif"][URL="http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/devilflame.gif"][/URL][/URL]

Then followed by white pad and 106FF.

The result was this,

I PC'd both OS doors, OS mirror, OS front and rear wings and the bootlid and rear bumper. After PCing I applied JEFFS Acryllic Prime by hand and buffed off. Then two layers of JEFFS Acryllic JETT Trigger.

Then I used Zymol HD Cleanse on each panel before applying Zymol Carbon wax by foam applicator, Followed by final spritz of Zymol Field Glaze, and final buffing. This bumper was full of scratches and was not very detailed in its reflections. I am happy at the improvement here.

I'm amazed at the difference in sheer shine that polishing alone makes, and my next door neighbour was too.

There is some personal and Forum doubt at the moment as to whether the HD Cleanse was necessary in this process. Does it strip the acryllic sealant? Surely not because Carbon can go on top of JEFFS. And Zymol say that their waxes will only truly bond after HD cleansing. Aw, who cares anyway at this stage - it was a cracking day, I PC'd my car at last and got a burnt heid.[URL="http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif"][URL="http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/eek.gif"][/URL][/URL]

I then went to stand up at the end - and couldn't. My wife brought the laptop and a cup of tea outside to allow me to post this.

Get yourselves onto detailingworld.co.uk. It's an amazing forum with lots of useful stuff for looking after your car.

Then get a PC and polishes and go for it.

The paintwork on my car has now been about 85% corrected, is smoother than glass and smells like chocolate and strawberries. The ZYMOL products are amazing to use and smell out of this world.

Not bad for a 5-year old car. And I can also say that if I have the car until it's 10 yrs, then it will be in the same condition at that age.

You'll see an amazing difference in the Volcan Black I'm sure mate. That is one colour of car worth transforming. I think a gleaming B5 is a fine sight indeed. Go for it and take your time with the VAG paint. Best of luck!
