Cleaning Brushed ally inlays?

Anyone got any tips for cleaning the brushed ally inlays like the ones in the A3 slines? Also, any tips for minor scratch/mark removal on the brushed all too? I had a slight mark on a patch of brushed ally so i wet my finger and rubbed it, and its left a small minor scratch!!!!

All we usually do is degrease them as part of the wash process and then protect them with a coat of wax or sealant. Can you post a picture or two of the damage please? Would make it easier to give you some ideas.
