Can I just check something? If a scratch catches on my fingernail as I run it across it, it's too deep too polish out? The scratches look minor but my nail catches so I believe that's a no polish.

I don't think they'll polish out completely, but it can still help reduce the visibility of them. How about touch up paint?
Apparently it's best to use a toothpick and apply very thin layers. Then laquer over the top, and finally polish it in.
Have a look, you might be surprised.

like the look of that chipex stuff got lloads of scratches and chips on mine that i want to sort out, if you have som slight scratches try some really fine paper or a nibber then polis out that works pretty well on most scratches that aren't to deep.
