Removing scratches from S3 aluminium wing mirror?

Hi guys, I annoyingly managed to catch my passenger wing mirror on a wall whilst reversing and waving goodbye to the kids (should have been looking more carefully). It's an original S3 8L aluminium mirror housing and unfortunately now has some relatively deep (about 0.25mm) scratches on a small area (around 15mm square). Anyone got a suggestion of how to remove them?

is it brushed aluminium? you could try Megs scratch x, if you can get a fingernail in the scratch then chances are it will be difficult to shift

depends on how deep it is mate, there is only so much you can machine see, seeing as you have caugtht it on a wall then id say it needs paint(if not solid aluminium)

That's what I suspected. They're the original solid aluminium mirrors so painting is not an option.
