Can anyone recommend a suitable product for cleaning the engine bay including the engine itself.
And how to go about it. i.e:- spraying / brushing / rinsing etc?
 
Yes i used GUNK spray from halfords and a jet wash but keep it at distance so not to get the electrics wet or a watering can make sure you rise it of
 
i realise a lotta people clean their engine and there a competitions etc but i have it in my head that cleaning the engine would strip it of the gunk/grease etc which protect it from corrosion? is this an old wives tale somebody has told me as a kid!!
