Best product for cleaning hood.

Audi A4 Convertible, black hood 3 years old, only ever clean it with car shampoo.

Is that ok or should I use a specific product. The products I have seen in Halfords are really quite expensive.

Looks like the Autoglym kit is the best value for money. I will give that a go. Thanks.

Very important you cover the paintwork and glass before applying the waterproofer.....cling film is good for glass especially the rear window. If you get it on glass and paint it leaves a milky White plasticy type stuff ......

I only rince my roof with water now, never soap and definitely never ever a power washer.

I used the Autoglym product and it has done a fairly good job. It wasn't about looks for me, I did it just to ensure it lasts me longer.

Having treated my hood with Autoglym, this is what happens now when I soak the roof with a hose:
