    Fully Certified

Just picked up my Certificate from the Master himself Tony Spears.

I am now fully certified which gives my customers a bit more confidence that im trained in what i do. Our company is called P.R.D(perfect reflection detailing) and we are based in south wales.

I carried out my 100% full correction on a Porsche 996 Turbo.

didnt have the time to take alot of pictures as i was up against it and my concentration was solely on the paint. stunning car to work on.

all day long i had this thing behind me aswel lol

    6.2 V12 anyone

it was having a new clutch which was mega money trust me lol.

To be honest, I had to search for who Tony Spears is. For some reason I was thinking of Aries spears.

Tony was the first Swissvax detailer/Trainer who has trained most of the swissvax detailers in the UK. to be swissvax Approved you would have had to have been trined by Tony. ive been taught tricks that he didnt even show his swissvax detailers and he is a top guy with a huge wealth of knowledge and his work speaks for itself, if people from New Zealand are asking for him to train them and people want him to detail 60m super yachts then im happy.

Well done mate. Just a quick one though, you paid HIM to do a 100% correction? Shouldn't that be the other way around??!!lol! So he probably collected the cash from a customer for a car that YOU detailed and worked your arse off on then got paid by you too. I appreciate the kudos you have now for his approval (though I and many of your future customers have and will prob never have heard of the guy-I had to google him too) but WTF!!! Bet he's rubbing his hands together. Nothing personal towards you mate, just raising the point thats all. But fair play well done for achieving the skillset you now have.

lol i know what you mean but as Tony is world renowned(in the detailing game) i think it was worth every penny mate, anyone can call themselves a detailer so i just wanted to be certified to show customers that i am actually qualified in what i do and not just doing it as a weekend thing. and plus dont get sucked into the hype of these 7k car washes being the best guys in this business as i have some nice stories you would be shocked at.

    Congrats Grant

May have a proper challenge for you mate. Missus has a Clio with paintwork that's seen better days... will drop you a text to pop up and you can cast your 'certified eye' over it and see what you think

    Congrats!

Think someone needs to say though "Being Qualified at something doesn't always mean you are good at it, it's the same in all walks of life not just detailing."

Not to forget that there are other detailer's who have been at the game for the same amount of time as the older generation have but many may have had less exposure to the lime light. I'm obviously not talking about myself here as I'm only an un-qualified amateur - at best!, but it's not what you know it's how you use the knowledge, how thorough you are with any given job regardless of how much it's making you, that in my eyes is what makes a good detailer, not what's written on a certificate.

Sorry to rain on the parade here...not meaning to put a downer on your achievement mate as it's a great plus. Just think the above needed to be said!

no worries G, i have been doing this for a while now mate and have around 10 cars under my belt so i know what im doing. give me any car and i will do the same job as any other top detailer mate, after all its my reputation on the line so why would i do a ****e job, the reason for the certification is that it just helps in confidence with customers as they see that im certified at it and as its going to be a business i thought it would be nice for myself to have it. there are lots of detailers out there with no certificate and they are some of the best around but its my personal choice to have the certificate for my own peace of mind, but trust me i can detail cars mate its not a weekend thing for me its my job and im good at it but understand fully where you coming from.

    Cheers

    Well done Grant!

I'm doing the same course in Feb!( the 3 day course) I've dabbled in the techniques of detailing (Claying, DA polishing etc) but I'm not anywhere near a professional standard detailer, by any stretch, just an enthusiast.

The course sounds awesome , I can't wait to go , now I've seen what you have acheived! I'm glad I booked it!

I want to have a skill (or the skill) to work on my car or friends and family's cars, to get the best out of them. In a view, to maybe, taking it further in the future.

This guy is the cream of the crop! So I thought I'd get trained by the best! It is quite pricey but not too bad, essential, IMHO, to give you and the customer full confidence. Especially as competition is feirce and people are being more careful at the moment.

Again, nice one mate, and the cars look immense
