Fixing S3 bootlid badge

Hello all, head nipping time yet again.

I have removed my pre-facelift bootlid S3 badge to polish up the bootlid and fit a new facelift S3 badge (oem audi S3 badge self adhesive backing).

I am wondering about how well the badge will stick after polishing, glazing and waxing.

Have any of you experience fitting new badges after correction? What point should I stick the badge on to ensure it will stick well to the panel?
