The light that burns twice as bright , burns half as long.
Poor man's EVO IMHO and not cool. My mate had one back in the 90's - it broke down with alarming regularity!
If you like it though, that is the main thing![]()
A6 3.0 TDI.
Well your right they do brake down a lot , but i never met an evo that could beat it.

My mate had his pulsar 6 years and it only broke down twice,a dodgy connector on an injector and the synchro went for fifth gear.He sold it 2 months ago and wants another now.
I dont doubt there are plenty of evo's that would of beat his but we never found any that could, loads of fun but his brakes was terrible, not like yours.

For sure they are fast after investing some cash into them, But cool? surely not?!
A6 3.0 TDI.
ugly as sin but then who buys them on the way they look?i bought mine as for the money pretty much nothing can touch them.great cars.if you look after them they dont break much, mine was 315bhp and used every day with no big problems.
My mates was 356bhp and used hard everyday, sounded lovely. That was the car which got me into 4wd jap turbo cars.
2003 A4 Avant 2.5TDi quattro
To do: Joey-mod headlights - Twin Exit Exhaust Conversion - Puddle light and Footwell light retrofit - Rear roof spoiler.
WANTED: Unpainted standard front & rear lower valance (with twin exhaust cut outs) - from someone who's doing an S-Line upgrade.
Rare doesnt always mean cool, Metro's are thankfully rare!!
EVO 6 Makinen - Now thats a cool car IMO.
Dare I say it, but as fast as the Sunny is, it borders on chavvy!
A6 3.0 TDI.
its cool if you think that there was a hot hatch out there in 1990 that had 227bhp and 4x4 standard.its not as good as more modern evos but it is a lot older.

My mates bird wants him to sell his replacement for the pulsar,a Lexus SC430 and get another Pulsar too.
next door neighbour has one. They'll never be cool IMO, but fast and cheap you can't argue with.
2001 Black RS4 - P11 LCC
1992 Burgundy Pearl Corrado VR6 - A20 LEE
Saw quite a few of these running around Leeds, the ones I saw sounded pretty loud! Anyways, what are the performance figures and running costs for them???
2006/2008 - 52 Peugeot 206 1.4 LX, Platinum Silver
2008 - 04 Audi A3 8P1 2.0 TDi (140) Sport, Mauritius Blue
As far as I can ascertain;
Power : 220bhp
Weight : 1220kg
Power/Weight : 183bhp per ton
0-60 : 5.42
0-100 : 15.26
¼mile : 14.2
Term : 97mph
I think they're pretty cool
Cool in a Japanese 'Substance over Style' kind of way.
Not terribly fast though until you throw loads of money at them, I think a bit of the standard 220bhp gets lost in the 4wd system...
Volvo V50 D5 R-Design
fit a bleed valve to up the boost to 1bar and fit an exhaust and you will see about 280-290bhp.thats good enough to get you to 60 in 4 dead and get low 12's on the strip if you know how to drive it.they dont cost much at all to get over 300bhp.
Whoa! Their pretty dam fast!

thats what i liked most about it and the fact most people dont have a clue what they are.
If I wanted a fast car I wouldnt buy an Audi. Also emmission and safety regulations of 20 years ago are totally different to what todays Audis have to comply with.
Just saying when they first arrived they were a bit over hyped, cost lots and quite a few were unreliable.
Still nice cars, also kudos to the Japanese designer that had the balls back in the late 80's to fit that bonnet scoop to a small Japanese hatchback!
Volvo V50 D5 R-Design
I just sold my pulsar last week to buy my s3, i think there cool.

Yep, it cost me £50 for that!
Also got the forge fmic on without cutting the bumper out![]()
i would not say no to 1.
i think there cool!
Now to many mods to list! Lots of power, torque and Leather!

Sub Zero!
A3 Sportback S-line TDi
Gone - S4 bi-turbo - forever a place in my heart!
I think they are like all Japanese spiced up family cars....Un cool.
2003 Audi S3 + Go faster bits
Ive owned one and it was an absolute nightmare!!!
I'll be honest they are fun, but stylewise?..............no! I would prefer an sti or evo getting speed and looks.
Audi A4 2.0 sport, My mind is telling me no, but my body, my body is telling me yes!
Pre-dates a lot of modern day bonkers jap stuff so not strictly a fair comparison with hardcore EVO/Imprezas.
Cool IMO, not sure why but cool none the less.
Nearly bought one instead of my first G60 Corrado.
Nissan was quicker, Corrado was better.
Cool car.
They are pretty cool for a car that age, with good figures to date too. I can't say i'd ever buy one though, like someone said, if you want serious speed you won't find it in an audi. Audi's aren't made to be the quickest by all means, but are generally far superior in terms of ride and quality. Unfortunately most japanese cars are pretty tacky inside with a cheap feel.
