Here are a few frequently asked questions answered below
1. how long have you owned it and is your name and address in the V5?
I have owned the vehicle since 01/08/2011, and the V5 is in my name, currently the car is wearing a personalised registration which is in process of being removed. This should take 1 week or so, its original reg of KX04 JYE
2. what year/month was it first registered?
vehicle was first registered on 20/04/2004. Vehicle is a 2004, Audi A3 2.0 Tdi sport 3 door , manual with dark grey cloth trim with rear parking sensors and BOSE sound pack.
3. what is the mileage and what was it when you brought it?
The present mile age is on 113,000k miles, mainly motorway miles from previous owners due to achieveing upto 55-60mpg. The car has 3 former keepers written on the V5. I aquired the vehicle on 104,000 miles and conducted an oil change immediatley for my peace of mind and just last week conducted a full service changing the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and pollen filter
4. what does the service history consist of ie Main Dealer & Non main dealer etc?
The vehicle has Main dealer Audi service history up until 77,527K miles and there after at private garages. Flicking thorough the receipts its had good service history, with cv boots replaced, tyres replaced and cambelt etc. that last service was actually done by myself which was an oil change at 104k miles. The previous service to this was at a garage in surrey where they changed the air filter, pollen filter, oil filter, oil, fuel filter, and front brake pads and that was at 96k miles so not long before i aquired the vehicle. With its current mileage i would say those items dont need replacing as the car drives fine but an engine oil change would be sufficent, I can do this for you should you want. I also had the battery changed for a BOSCH item in my ownership and a common problem repaired. These audi cars alike with the Vw golf tdi, Seat leon Tdi's (same engines) suffer from a common problem where the intake flap manifold motor fails causing the car to go into a safe mode where there is no power at all and it drives like a car on 1 cyclinder, the car does this to protect the engine, this is because the flap is stuck and allows in much more air then is required. This item was replaced with a genuine audi part by a garage in Park Royal (Virdee Autos) who is a german car specialist, this was at a cost of £380 to myself and was done at roughly 107k miles. Tyres have also been replaced by myself all of which have very good tread, almost new.
5. has the cam belt & water pump been replaced, if so when?
As above the cambelt, tensioner and antifreeze was changed at Oxford Audi at 72K miles in may of 2009. Now the service book states every 5 years or every 80k miles which ever comes first, so this wont be required for some time. im not sure why the water pump was not replaced but being at Audi they should know better, and maybe it was fine. The car has never had problems with heating up or anything.
6. any faults with the car? you mention there is a knocking sound on the O/S rear, have you had this checked out and identified what & how much it might be to fix?
This knocking sound is the rear suspension bush, it has been like that since i bought it from the previous owner who also had the problem. to be honest it has never bothered me as when i have the music on i cant hear it, its nothing major and didnt fail the MOT. If you really wanted to replace this you could buy repalcement suspension dampers from GSF or euro car parts and they would cost approx £50 each but advisable to change in pairs. too be honest if you look on Ebay or Audi sport forums you will see people selling old suspension parts which will do the job fine, making an enquiry now ive been quoted £60 for 2 used rear shocks for the car from low mileage cars. The only other fault on the car is the rear wipe motor has failed (also another common fault) these are approx £40 on ebay and once replaced will work fine, again it really hasnt bothered me.
any questions please ask. Really well cared for example with reliable motoring. always warmed up and cooled down.
I am after £5500ono
