Hello Guys,

Firstly I have been through all related posts and nothing has come up trumps so far.

Problem = Manual Hood flap not releasing when pressing switch. I know the process of boot locked etc but nothing.

I deliberately bought a manual hood to limit any roof problems but i presumed wrongly.

First of all it worked fine but everytime I pressed the B-Pillar switch I heard a ticking/clicking noise coming from behind the rear seat, either drivers side or actually behind the rear side wall (section before rear seats) drivers side.

Now the switch does nothing although I have replaced it with a brand new VAG one and i have stripped the rear seats and side out. What I cant work out is what controls the release of the rear flap, I can obviously turn it by hand by putting a screw driver in and releasing the catch but what normally controls it?

Is there any relay anywhere that relates to the flap release?

Is it controlled by hydraulics and if so is there a resevoir that could be down?

I have checked the fuses and they appear ok.

Any help advice, diagrams would be appreciated.

Has anyone got any software that can provide diagrams of the roof system for me?
