I have some new A3 wheels offset 56 and was wanting to fit them to my 1995 A6 Avant and was wondering if 20 mm spacers would be correct for achieveing the right offset?

Regards,
Kieron

20mm spacers would bring the offset down to 36mm, is this what you're after?

i don't know thats what i was asking what is the desired offset for a 1995 Audi A6?

As far as I can tell, the correct offset for that car is 45mm. This is usually stamped onto the wheel somewhere (probably near the boltholes), there might be e.g. 7J x 15 ET 45 the ET 45 bit is the offset.

i know that et is the offset but its not fitted with standard wheels at the moment its fitted with those nasty sport rader ones they sometimes come with. so 10-15 mm spacers should bring me nearest to the correct offset. Can anyone verify that et 45 is the correct offset for my vehicle has will get some spacers organised asap if so. it is currently on 15"s, 205,60,15 and will be fitting 17"s, 225,50,17

Thanks,
kieron

The 'magic software' shows 4 varieties of alloy wheel, either 6 x 15 or 7 x 15 sizes, all 4 have the same et which is 45mm. This is for a 1995 A6. It's as sure as I can be, without having a wheel in front of me! If the sport raiders were specced for the car, they should be 45ET or close to it?
