i'm looking to buy a reliable car to get to school. i don't want to have to worry about the car during school. theres a 1991 80 sedan for sale for 2,300 but the park brake doesn't work. was wondering about how much that would cost to get fixed. also there is a 1993 90 for 1,650. but it has like 218,000 miles on it. i was wondering how the audis are with high miles like that. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The high milage on the 90 shouldnt be a problem so long as the car has a service history. The 5 cylinder engine is a great solid engine. I havent a clue about the 80 handbrake as havent had to do mine as yet. I have the 16 valve, which is nowhere as good as my old 90.But cant comment on the 8 valve engine as yet untried by myself.
