Audi Coupe models

Hi

looking at getting an audi coupe, just wondering what all the engines and performance figures are- google doesnt seem to like helping on this one!

is there anything to look out for- heard the timing belt needs to be changed fairly regularly??

whats peoples views on the best model to go for?

If it were me i would go for the 2.3 20v model 170 bhp .......i have been looking about for a friend and there is a few for sale ..........if you want a cruising machine go for 2.6-2.8 V6 models average BHP 180 great pulling power smooth ride..........2.3 is fast but a bit engine noiser if you know what i mean

When looking check power steering pump for leaks ,bottom of the doors were the trim goes along it sometimes lifts and water gets in and rusts, top of the wheel arches for rust ,double check all the electrics if it comes with the pack ie windows,sunroof,rear de-mister,fan,so on.......when driving check for pull in every gear if there is any problem with engine it will show if you do that .........Check for service history as you said timing belt have been done so on

looking at 2 this week- ones the 2.6, but its done 168k, with the timing belt changed about 5k miles ago

the others the 2.3 20v quattro, which sounds like more fun, and has done 125k. but its in white lol

Funny there is a lot of white 2.3 20v

2.6 model which one is it ?....is it in the Autotrader?.............168k mmmmmmm becareful with that one make sure that the car has full service history the engine will do more but as long as it has been looked after.....

no, its not on the trader, its a private sale.

the guys looked after it well, and its in good condition with full audi specialist service history.

i know the mileage is high, but being a Dub fan iv seen the vr6 engines go up to 250k or so. and its dragon green (not sure on the audi name, if its different!). i just dont like white cars

If you're considering a 20v, there's a lot of good info at www.20v.org, there is also a
12v.org site for the v6. To drive, these two cars are chalk and cheese, 20v is lacking in low down torque, but takes off at higher revs, v6 has plenty low down
but (in comparison) runs out of steam at high revs.
Quattro models are great handling, esp in the wet, but you also lose 2-4mpg (20v) depending on speed.

the 2.3 20v has been sold, so looks like im looking at either the vr6 or waiting a while.

but slowly falling for the car, so may just have to rescue it!!
