oil pressure sensor

95 Cabriolet 2.6.

since i bought it the oil pressure gauge has jumped straight to max everytime i start the engine up. I am hoping this is a good thing but to give me peace of mind can anyone tell me what oil pressure your 2.6e usually runs at and also where the oil temp sensor is on the engine so i can check it is working properly.

When cold it should go to 5 bar when idling,Hot should sit at 3 bar Idling when revs are past 2200 should go to 5 bar hot or cold

I think the pressure switch is situated around the oil cooler(oil filter area)??
