Hello,
I have a 1994 Audi 80 TDI Avant. Since I've had it, it has had a problem with the electrics. When the engine gets to around the 90degrees mark the fan will cut in causing the instrument light to flicker and eventually blow the fuse(for the instrument light). I first noticed this when I was driving home after buying it. It got dark and I turned my lights on but couldn't see how fast I was going due to the lack of instrument light. I pulled over and changed the fuse to the dash. When I got back in the dash lights worked but I now had the ABS light on. Bummer.
A few weeks later stuck in a traffic jam and the fan started cutting in, making the lights flicker whilst a sort of clicking/electrical shorting noise happened. Then, again, the lights to the speedo went.
I have checked to make sure all fuses are not blown, and checked in the passenger foot well to see if all the earth's are properly connected. Is this something anyone before? I think the shorting may have caused the ABS light to come on. I am hoping this can be cleared when hooked up to a VAG computer. (waiting for the 2x2 pin connector turns up)
Also about 40minutes into a drive today the glow plug light started flashing. I turned the car off then on and it went. It did this about an hour later and I repetead the on/off process clearing it again. Any thoughts?
Any help on this would be brilliant.
Alex
