    Engine types and results from a Re-map!?

    Hi Chipped!

    I'm looking into a Re-map. You seem to be very competatively priced and have good feedback.

    My question is though, looking at various data i've trawled through via the internet etc the AMK engine and BAM engine are identical. Is the only difference the boost pressure upped a little to produce the 225Hp over the 210Hp for the AMK.?

    Why then is it not possible to see better results from a mapped AMK as the horsepower gains are more taking the 15Hp extra that the 225 has ontop of the say for arguements sake 40Hp.

    So in total the 225 would be capable of say 270Hp an increase of 45Hp.

    The AMK goes from 210 to 270 giving an increase of 60Hp.

    Am i on the right lines here or am i totally off the mark???

    G I'm sure I read somewhere that the reason that the newer S3s put out 225hp over the old 210hp was because of something to do with the valve timing being modified!

    Thanks for that but it's not what i'm after. I'm trying to find out what the differences are for certain between the AMK and the BAM.

    My car has VVTI as i've had it replaced. I think it's boost pressure, slightly more with the 225 BAM's. My above question still stands Chip can you answer them??
