***Special Offer for Audi-Sport.net Members – ST3 Intelligent Self Tuning System***

At the start of this month Chipped UK Launch their ST3 Intelligent Self Tuning System

This is a self tuning system with a difference. Instead of only being able to have 1 modified file; this system comes with 2 giving you the ability to have total control over the software on your cars ECU.

You can chose between Power, Economy and Torque at the same time as also storing the original file allowing you to swap between them at the touch of a button.

The system is easy to use, you simply connect to the cars OBD port, read the original software which is then sent to us and minutes later the modified files are returned and ready to write back to the car.

Another beauty of this system is that when you change your car you have the ability to use the ST3 on your next car as long as the new car is on the extensive software list.

The system comes with a 2 year warranty and technical support. Prices start at only £450 Inc vat.

Now here is the amazing offer; the first 10 units for Audi-Sport I am offering these to you as a group buy for £350 including VAT and delivery.

Then all you have to do is connect it to the car and follow the instructions on the installation CD.

Preference will be given to longer serving members that have been with the forum for an extended period of time (Couple of months at least), but should all 10 units should not be taken up, then these will be passed onto new members.

Once all 10 Group Buy units have been requested and paid for these will then be sent out Special recorded delivery.

On a personal note I have one of these units for myself and they are an amazing bit of kit, not only are they able to flash your ECU with up to 1 original and 2 mods, they also read and clear DTC error codes. If you would like a demo then please feel free to call me on 07756 190026.

Engines covered at the moment across the VAG range are as follows.

    1.4Tdi, 1.9TDi (PD and Non-PD*), 2.0TDi, 2.0TFSi, 2.7TDi and 3.0TDi.

We are Currently work on additions and hope to add more petrol engines to the list soon.

    The ST3 also cover Alfa Romeo – Citreon - Chrysler - Fiat - Ford - Jaguar - Jeep - Lancia - Land Rover - Mercedes - Morgan - Peugeot - Renault

If you would like any further details please don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Thanks,
    Mark

If you are still not sure baout this, Here is some feed back on the ST3 from one of the members over on the UK MK IV's forum.

Here is a bit of feedback on the ST3 from one of the members over on UK MK IV (Golf Forum).

"I was fortunate enough to obtain one of the first ST3 units from Chipped UK today after visiting their Bromsgrove HQ.

The unit is about 6 x 3 inches and is really nicely made, it only has four buttons so it is really easy to operate as well

Installation of the unit onto the PC couldn't be easier, it is just a matter of installing the software from the CD following the instructions from the really good manual that is also on the disc and configuring it for first use, where you choose your car make and model.

You can then connect it to your car and download your original map to the unit following the easy on screen instructions, once this is complete you can download the map from the unit using the ST3 utility that you installed on the PC and send it to Jayson at Chipped UK for modification via email.

As I was there he modified my original map for me after asking me what type of maps I wanted for the device, I went for a performance map and a "slightly" milder version that is a bit more economical but still delivers the goods . It is just a matter of loading them into the ST3 from the PC following the instructions in the manual and you are then ready to use it on the car.

This part couldn't be easier just connect the unit to the car and turn the ignition on:

    • First you need to Identify the ECU (Top option) or the unit will not let you flash the ECU
    • Then from the main menu select write file to ECU using the arrow keys and press Y(es)
    • Select the map to write to the car using the arrow keys and press Y(es)
    • Confirm the action
The file write takes about two minutes and that is it your car is re-mapped

The difference in the new map compared to the old Colins performance map isn't that much on the total power front and I didn't expect it to be, but the delivery starts much lower down the range and is nice and smooth with no sudden clutch shredding bursts of torque and the best bit is there is now no smoke where before it used to smoke like a good old oil burner and the fuel economy is up too - that was on the power map as well .

This unit is well worth the price, after all you get two maps which on there own would cost about £500 - £600 if bought separately and the function to switch between them to suite your needs so it definitely gets a big from me

Thanks for the hospitality today Jayson (and the entertainment)

    Neil"

    Hi,

You can only use this unit on one car at a time as it is locked to that particular car, until you put the Ori file back on it. So when you buy a new car you can use it on the next one.

    Thanks, Mark

what about the TDi 2.0 140 ps with DSG ? I presume the principle is the same as with Superchips bluefin, although it looks like its more flexible, do you have any power maps ?

    Hi there,

It's similar kind of idea, except with 2 modded maps. We can taylor the maps to how you want you yours, obviously we'd be careful with the DSG gearbox, but these can go upto 190hp 290lb/ft but the torque delivery is alot smoother on the DSG as opposed to the manual.

    Thanks, Mark

hmm I can see the benefits, and compared to bluefin the offer price is a bargin, the only but that I have is that I only used bluefin twice, once to add it and once to take it off ... which makes your curret RR day offer more tempting.

The beauty with it is you can have an economy remap for if you do long journeys and general driving and the fast road or Race map to have a bit of fun. Also the ST3 reads and clears error code.

Also when you decide to change car (as long as the ST3 covers it) you can have new files for the ST3 for only £100 +vat each and you don't have to buy 2 at the same time, you can 1 and then another one at a later date.

    Thanks, Mark

mark, could you explain the differnces between the economy and power maps, what sort of torque & power figures are quoted as an average ? with the economy how much do you expect to pick up on MPG ? I'm likely to live the car on the power mode as that would be the whole point of tuning the car for me, also can the maps be made specific to a car when set up on a rooling road ? I may want to do some track work with the old derv drinker and possibly a few changes although these will only ever go as far as a panel filter and exhaust nothing more, if I want more power then i'll get the 3.0 tdi.

Also, with the A3 and DSG I find it a pain that the car decides to change up when hitting the rev limiter, is there anyway this can be removed or the limit increased ? its not that I want to rev higher - although i know the manual tdi will allow you, its just so it would give you a little more control. Oh and is the £350 the price for a 2.0 TDi 140 ps DSG A3 ?

I can demo the unit for you so you can see how easy it is to use, etc. But I'm sure all of you would be fine, as it's easier than using a modern Mobile phone

This is the figures for the 140 engine.

    Economy, 28hp, 65Nm, +5mpg
Fast Road, 40hp, 95Nm, equal economy
    Race, 46hp, 110Nm, -3mpg

Obviously your Maps can be more precise done on on rolling road with a live remap, but this is not cheap. but what we can do is taylor your maps for you needs and take any modifications into account. But Panel filter and Exhaust you are not like ly to need anything changed, only of you change turbo's, sports cats etc would you need this.

    Thanks, Mark

Also on another note the ST3 doesn't increase your Flash counter on the ECU and when you put the ECU back to standard. it is standard. no traces of the map are left behind.

    Hi Mark,

I had to pull out of a recent RR day because of my inflexible insurance company and the fact that I'd just renewed my policy,..... this sounds like a potential god send to me personally.

Does the £350 basically mean that the device has a performance map, economy map and 'back to standard, don't know what you're talking about officer, map' ?

If I came up to your Worcestershire? premises could you show me how to use it an load a map up for me there an then?

Sorta glad I missed the RR day tbh as I've moved the avant TFSI on and now have an Avant 140TDI .... another reason why this appeals!.

Are there any implications with the unit being 'sold on' second hand in future ? (not that I can think why I'd want to really)

    Cheers Mark.

I'm no expert, but I do believe this will only work on 1 vehicle, as it is a modification of the original map. I assume therefore, that the unit is stuck to the car. I could be wrong, but if it wasn't like this then you and all your mates with the same engine would be able to map your cars for the single outlay, and that wouldn't be good for buissiness.

Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

That question has already been answered earlier in the thread, you can only have a modified map loaded to one car at a time, but if you load the standard map back to your car this enables you to load a custom map onto another vehicle..... that's the way I read it. Bloody handy for someone like me who gets through a lot of cars.

Although the new avant (06 plate) is a gem, absolute showroom condition and under 25k on it, so I'll probably keep it long term

I dont think so. He states you can have new maps for 100 sheet each. Which means you would need to spend 100 for a map for the new car. Cheaper than the 350 original outlay, mind you, and is a good deal.

But that means when (if) you decide to sell it on second hand, the new owner will then need to pay the 100 to get the map for his car. Thus reducing the resale value by 100 sheets.

I would like to know though, if its possible to use the same unit on 2 cars? For example, if I could get this for my A3 2.0TDi with the 2 maps, and then purchase a map for my Golf 1.8T for 100 quid, and run it aswell as my A3???

    Hi Guys,

You can only use the unit on one car at a time, if you want to use on a new/different car, you have to put the current car back to standard and then wipe the device to setup for the new car.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks, Mark

    HI
Sounds very good....seeing as a Bluefin isnt available for my car I was looking to remap. Sounds very much like a Powercommander Ive used for bikes.
Does the 1.8T one cover a multitronic? (B7 A4 163 bhp), if so, what gains on the power and econ. maps am I looking at?

    Hi Johnny,

Yes this is not a problem. Gains are as follows -

    Eco - 30hp 60nm
    Fast road - 40hp 80 nm
    Race - 45-50hp 95nm.

    Thanks, Mark

    Hi
Still interested in this but a couple of Qs please
I can only have 2 of the 3 maps? ie eco and race, fast and race etc.
Would keeping the map on ,say, the race one, which is obviously more bhp and torque and therefore more strain on the engine, be within the tolerances of my engine? Do you know what the maximum bhp and torque is that I can safely run at consistently please? If I changed maps would it kick in straight away or does it take the ECU time to 'learn' it? Have you any RR graphs showing the bhp/torque levels?

Yes you get 2 maps, not enough room on the device for 3.

All the maps we make are well withoin the limits of the car, we can make more powerfull maps on request, but you will need uprated parts and have to understand you will get through things like plugs etc quicker.

The map will take a short while to bed in completely but you will notice the difference straight off.

I can try get hold of some graphs for you.

    Thanks, Mark

    Smile

I might be interested as well

When you put the original map back on is it exactly the same as the original and would anyone be able to tell that it was mapped in the past.

Also if I signed up how quick would you be able to get them i.e. do you have to wait until all 10 are signed up before you get the deal?

Have you had any luck getting graphs yet?

    Cheers,

Update: sorry just read the start of the post re the group buy....

    Yes it works on this.

gains are in the region of -
    eco - 30hp 60nm
    Fast Road - 40hp 80nm
    Race - 50hp 100nm

Above price still applies, just need the numbers.

    Thanks, Mark.

    Hi Johny,

It is covered, it's pretty much the same ECU as the 150, 180. 190 and 225 (Bosch ME7.1). Just isn't on the list.

    Cheers, Mark
