Amplifier pre-out. Whats it for?

I've just been looking at my amps and noticed that they both have pre-out RCAs next to the input ones. Why are they there and what are they used for?
 
Ideal! That solves the problem of only having 2 pre-outs on the headunit and running 2 amps .
