fitting aftermarket stereo in a3 1998

my mate gave me leads to fit stereo it has female and male iso and red plug with [red/blue tracer] blue[ white/blue tracer with a lucar on the end] and yellow /grey tracer anyone know if this is right
 
No idea waht a tracer is. You should have a long thin red plug with red & white RCA's which plug into the rear RCA's of the new HU and a flying lead which needs to connect to the power antenna or "remote on" on the new HU.
 
cheers andy i thought it wasnt right the speaker outputs for the rear have been fed to the wires in the long red plug[tracer =stripe or coloured band around wire]
 
There are 2 types of adapter, speaker input (which uses a hi-lo converter) and straight RCA input (no adapter). You need the straight RCA one.
