Currently got a double din BOSE powered Symphony 2 headunit.

Am I right in thinking the BOSE system has it's own powered speakers and subwoofer running in the car? I'm thinking of getting a double din replacement headunit (with proper ipod and bluetooth nonsense) but

a) Would it look 'right' in the dashboard? (as aftermarket stereos in cars like BMWs look awful) and
b) can I retain the BOSE speaker / sub setup (I.e. do I use something like this - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Cn0382pRtP4/p_120701787/Audi-Wiring-Harness.html?tp=2977)

Cheers!

Yes that's the right adapter, but you can get an awful popping from the Bose amp everytime you change track, depends on the HU, so you have been warned. Personally I would go for an RNS-e HU which will plug straight in and retain the look of the dash, anything else will look pretty awful.

RNS-e is the navi one yeah? hmm, can you get them off eBay or is there somewhere better?

Had a quick sniff around and it appears that the RNS-E won't fit the 8L S3, is that right?
