    Audi A4 B6 Alternator upgrade question

    Hello,

    I believe currently my alternator is 140a ... I however am upgrading it to a 210a alternator with a regulator.

    My question is how will this affect the engine management? Is this going to throw a error up? If it is what will that cause and how will it need resolving.

    Wouldn't this be better in the General/Technical section, instead of the I.C.E. section? You may get a few more responses there

    I've asked in the A4 section of the forums.. I asked here as people with ICE upgrade usually uprate there alternators

    Only if they're going in for dB competitions. A decent ICE upgrade rarely requires an alternator upgrade. It's about quality not 2kW systems and quality can be easily achieved under 1kW.

    Mine is 5krms ... 2 15" streetbasser.. not a SPL comeption.

    So you'd need in excess of 400amps to run such a system, doubt your 210a alternator upgrade is going to cope!
