Buzzing from left rear speaker, bose half amp

Problem with buzzing from left rear speaker, not all the time but getting really annoying. Cars a 2000 a3 1.8tqs fitted with a kenwood ipod head unit which has worked fine for about a year, any ideas? Thanks in advance..

No such thing as a Bose half amped system, all Bose systems are fully amped, only the non Bose is half amped. Is the buzzing present on radio/CD?
If it is then it really depends how the Kenwood is hooked up to the rear/sub amp. If it's buzzing then there's a good chance it's via a PC9-401 adapter which uses a line-out converter to take the speaker output back down to pre-out level. Have a look behind the HU and if the adapter has a chunky thing on it wrapped in foam then that's the PC9-401. Just replace this with a PC(-404 which uses the rear RCA's instead, far better solution, or rewire the rears directly too the far superior amp inside the Kenwood.

Thanks will have a look , its wired through the rear pre out for the sub..

Stock sub & speakers rears are run off pre out for sub on back of the head unit , while the front are run from the head unit ,the sub output has to be on to get sound from the rear if its not its front only. Even with the sub pre out switched off the left rear still buzzes, the time it buzzes for varies could be 5mins to an hour by which time ive turned the head unit off...

Why are you running the rears off the sub pre-out? The RCA adapter should be plugged into the rear pre-outs. Doubt that's the problem if it's intermittant. Does the buzzing rise with revs? Is it still there with the engine off?
Probably the amp on its way out. Just rewire the rears directly to the HU. Far better amp in the Kenwood than the fisher price 2 x 20w crap inside the sub.

Cheers Andy think the amp might be the problem , will try to rewire see if that cures the problem thanks for your help.
