6x9 speakers

i have a 97 8l a3 3dr have a brand new set of 6x9 speakers lying around and wondering is it poss to house these in replacement for the current rear speakers behind the rear cards beside seats? as they are slightly buzzing and need replacing anyway??

if not how could i fit them?

You just need to make or buy some 18mm MDF rings (regardless of whether they're 6x9's or 6.5" coxials), as the mounting on the back of the rear speaker card is offset and stands proud of the aperture. Don't expect too much of an improvement as the rears run ff the puny 2x 20w amp that also runs the tupperware sub. The buzzing is more likely to be the amp rather than the speakers, especially if you are running an aftermarket HU.
