im in need of a bit of help, looking to install a new headunit in my 03 a4, jve had a search and looks like i need a few things, can anyone point me in the right direction (links) to what i need,

im thinking, im going to need some HU removal pins to take the old one out. maybe a facia plate and what i realy need to know if i need some sort of iso connector

cheers:greyrs4:

You just need the removal keys, fascia panel, an aerial amp adapter and an RCA input adapter for the rear amp/sub, or better still rewire the rears directly to the new HU. The feeble 2 x 20w rear amp will be seriously underpowered compared to the 4 x 50w+ of any aftermarket unit. It will sound very feeble.
Also you don't have an ignition on live on the ISO power block, so you'll either need to twin the ignition on live on the new HU to te perm live and turn the HU on/off manually, or wire in an ignition live (see link below):

facia plate, sorted , nice 1

the rear speakers and sub, i will rewire directly to the headunit , so does that mean i wont need the rca adaptor thing and the aerial amp adaptor, or is the aerial adaptor totaly seperate thing to the speakers

cheers

Yes those are the keys. Just be very gentle when you use them. You insert them with the angled sides facing inwards, but don't pull on them once they are engaged, remove the glovebox and push from behind otherwise you can easily knacker the spring clips.
You still need the aerial adapter as this provides power via the coax to the aerial amp.
You might want to still use the RCA adapter but just for the sub using the sub preouts, it will still be very quiet though.

ive orded the facia, removal pins and the aerial adaptor, i have an infinity basslink which im going to shove in the back so im not to fussed about the standard sub

thanks for your advice, i let you know how i get on
