the denon amps were and still are very very good amps
and yes it will be better than the current amp
but the best way to improve sound in car is by installation not by equipment

this means making sure all equipment fitted is fitted to the best of its ability using such products as dynamatt on the door skins
then something like the skinz system to get the best from any speaker fitted even the standard ones
then changing the baffle that the standard speaker is fitted to to either mdf or marine ply
and so on and so on ...
