hi guys just bought s4 on a 98 with bose concert h,u but getting no sound,managed to get amp 4 it but cant find were 2 plug it in? any suggestions please, cheers justin.
no sound from h,u in s4 any help guys ?

You should have a bracket in the boot where the Bose amp sits, with a large connector ready to plug in.
cant find bracket or wires so guessing got wrong h,u ? if so should it not run the fronts if nothing else ?

The Bose system has a seperate amp for all speakers.
The non Bose runs the fronts off the HU and the rears via an amp bolted to the left rear speaker. Have a look under your parcel shelf and if the left speaker has some additional metalwork then you have the non Bose system.
Either way the HU has nothing to do with it. The fact it might say Bose when you turn it on is purely cosmetic and can be turned on/off with VAGCOM, so means nothing apart from the fact the previous owner bought a replacement HU on ebay and it just happened to be from a Bose equipped car.
If you can pull the HU check whether there is a brown front speaker harness behind there. This is used to drive the front speakers on non Bose systems. If it is there and plugged in then it's also possible the HU has the internal front amp turned off which is another programmable feature via VAGCOM.
